Based on the debate in the Core Meetings, a panel discussions by college and high school students as well as people active in various fields will be held to consider such issues as the role and possibilities of art in society and how society can make use of art. The discussions are open to the public.

Keynote Speech :
SENJYU Hiroshi Artist, Vice President KUAD
He was born in 1958 in Tokyo. He completed the Ph.D. Program in Fine Arts at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 1987. In 1995, he represented Japan at the Venice Biennale and was awarded an honorable mention. His works have been exhibited in many museums and galleries world-wide. He became a Professor at KUAD in 2002 and was recently appointed a Vice President in 2004.
Session1:Junior Artists Summit
High school students will be invited to make presentations on how design can change the world. After the presentations, 12 high school students will discuss how they change the future with creative power of art and design.
Presentation: Students in the presentation and 3 high school students invited from Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo

Session 2: Voices from the Artists
The results of the Core Meeting will be reported. Artists They show how art and artists take a leading role, and how they should be actively and virtually engaged in the world of the 21st century. 2 university students who joined the Core Meeting will also participa te in this session.

MIYAMOTO Amon, Director
Miyamoto started his career as an actor and choreographer. In 1998 the first film that he directed, Beat, which was set in Okinawa, was officially entered in the Venice Film Festival, and Miyamoto himself moved to Okinawa. In fall 2004 he staged Pacific Overtures in New York, becoming the first Asian to direct a musical on Broadway. The production was nominated for four Tony Awards in 2005. Mary Stuart will be performed in Osaka in December 2005. |
